Cipher and Chipz maybe a new company, but has been a long time in the making! Apart from the delvelopment of the skills of the staff required to do the job, (see "C&C staff" section) the first two years were spent researching what was needed in the Costa Blanca area, by the home and business users, so that we could offer a service second to none rather than just releasing a loose service and hoping that it woud succeed.

One was only living there because he was waiting on finishing of the construction of his new house, due to be completed in June 2003 (one month before), and the other had only moved to Cabo Roig because there was no other place to rent nearer Torrevieja at that time. The conversation moved on to the normal english topic i.e. "what do you want do?" When the reply came back that the new arrival was intending to start an I.T. company, a partnership was quickly discussed as this is exactly what the other had run in the UK as a Ltd. company. And so the partnership of Cipher & Chipz was born!

Whats in a name...

Now the most simple thing should be, what we going to call ourselves, right? Well not when your trying to create an S.L. company in Spain (or to be honest anywhere else) Originally after a suggestion of "C&C Computers" (standing for Chris & Chris) from a nieghbour and a little tweaking to C&C Computer Consultants we thought we had cracked it. And even though we were only investigating what we wished to do in the area we started the process of registering the name.

BIG MISTAKE!!

The problem of registering the name, came about when we decided that we didn´t wish to be a "Community of goods" but rather a full blown S.L. company, and C&C Computer Consultants belonged to a "Commnunity of Goods" company already, US!

24 new names were submitted, but were in each case already taken,getting desparate (this was costing time as well as money) the founders had a brain wave. Nobody had ever been told what C&C stood for. So we pooled a list of computer related words beginning with C. We toyed with the idea of "Code & Chipz" but finally settled on the current (and final name) "Cipher & Chipz"

Nothing is ever quick in Spain

It may seem that Cipher and Chipz has spent a lot more time than nessasary creating the company but please remember we started the process of creating Cipher & Chipz Computer Consultants S.L. as an S.L. company in October 2004 and  received the final deeds to the company Oct 2005.
